Introduction to the EMDR Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP): Past, Present and Future. The need and challenges for a group EMDR protocol. The development, status and possibilities of G-TEP as Guided Self-Help for reducing distress, strengthening resilience and preventing the accumulation of unprocessed trauma memories.
The EMDR Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP) was developed for groups of people to harness the power of the Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP) for individuals. Conceptualised as Guided Self-Help, it enables participants to work on the same or different traumas simultaneously, while allowing each person to process their own unique experience. It is a cost-effective evidence-based protocol for treating Traumatic Episodes that can be applied in everyday clinical practice for treating recent traumatic experiences as well as ongoing traumatic stress following adverse life-changing experiences for individuals, couples, families or groups.
This program includes lecture, videos, illustrations, guided and supervised practice in small groups where participants are offered an opportunity to deliver the scripted protocol and work experientially on their own material.
